All goes reasonably well in his new life until the country, just limping along as the worlds policeman, goes thru even worse economic depression and is attacked with nuclear weapons. Our hero is relatively safe for awhile but then the country is invaded, suffers natural disasters and a deadly plague which may have been released from its own weapons stockpile. All of which test his will to live and survival skills to the limit.
